CANSKATE
The Canskate program is offered to beginner skaters who want to learn how to skate or refine basic skating skills. Whether it be for hockey, figure skating, ringette or general interest, our Canskate program will help you gain the skills and confidence on the ice. The paisley skating club offers Canskate in two categories; Canskate 1-3 and Canskate 4-6. Please visit Our Programs page to find out more about the current season schedule.

CANSKATE 1-3
This session is for our newest and typically youngest skaters. Skaters who are just beginning, never been on the ice, and up to level 3 in the Skate Canada Canskate program will be in this session. If your child skated last season and you are not sure what level they are in - email us and we will let you know where to register them.
They will be learning the basics of skating. How to balance, how to stand, how to push, jump, turn, skating backwards and fine tuning these skills as they progress through each level. As skaters progress and pass levels, they may be asked to switch to the next higher session mid-season.
Registration Requirements:
- Must be at least 3 years old to register
- NO parents will be allowed on the ice
- CSA Approved Helmet Mandatory, face cage preferred

CANSKATE 4-6
This session is for our mid-high level Canskaters and beginner Star skaters. These skaters have completed the first levels in the Skate Canada Canskate program, and are now working on elements in levels 4-6 in this session. Once they have completed stage 6 of canskate they will move into the Star skate program. If your child skated last season and you are not sure what level they are in - email us and we will let you know where to register them.
They will be learning some of the more challenging elements, many skills on 1 foot, forwards and backwards, as well as working on their speed and agility while fine tuning these skills as they progress through each level. As skaters progress and pass levels, they may be asked to switch to the Star skate session mid-season.
Registration Requirements:
- Must have passed Stage 3 Canskate
- NO parents will be allowed on the ice
- *CSA Approved Helmet Mandatory, face cage preferred
*CSA helmets are mandatory up to and including stage 5. Once a skater has completed stage 5, the option to remove their helmet will be discussed with the parent/guardian.
